Yani is a poet, journalist, and workshop facilitator.
She is the author of Small Undetectable Thefts, which received the Eric Gregory Prize.

A recipient of the Out-Spoken Prize, she has been shortlisted for awards including the Arts Foundation Futures Award, the Ivan Juritz Prize, the Aesthetica Prize, and the Cúirt New Writing Prize.

Her work has appeared in over 30 international magazines including The London Magazine, Poetry London, Waxwing, and others. Her practice spans page and video poetry, collaborative performance, and erasure poetry.

She is an alumna of the Southbank New Poets Collective and the London Library Emerging Writers Programme. She also runs generative poetry workshops for places like The Poetry School and The Southbank Centre.

Alongside poetry, she works as a senior journalist specialised in video production, digital growth, and YouTube. She was born in Bulgaria, raised in Lebanon, and now lives in Cambridgeshire.
